Items (sensors or other groups) can be added to a group in different ways:
•Choose the item you want to move, drag and drop it on the group which shall contain the item.
•Right click the group and click one of the buttons Create Sensor, Create Group or Create Hostgroup or use one of the buttons Create Sensor, Create Group or Create Hostgroup in the ribbon.
Items (sensors or other groups) may be moved to other groups or removed from a group the same way they are added.
•Choose the item you want to move, drag and drop it on the group which shall contain the item.
•Right click the sensor or group and choose the Delete button, use the Delete button in the ribbon or use the delete key on your keyboard.
•A hostgroup is like a normal group, but it needs to have a host.
•A hostname used for a hostgroup can't be used in a different hostgroup.
•If you create a new sensor that can have a host in a hostgroup, the host will be inherited from the hostgroup by default. That means that the sensor has the same host that the group has. You can change this by entering a different host in the sensor settings.
•A hostgroup can't have a different hostgroup as an ancestor in the hierarchy. This can be a reason when creating a hostgroup is not possible or when it's not possible to copy or move a hostgroup.
•There can be normal groups in the hierarchy under hostgroups.
