SmartCallMonitor can be used as client-server solution. A SmartCallMonitor instance can be used as a server, which shares its lines with other instances. Port 8074 is used for communication on the network. Follow these steps to configure a client-server solution:
Server
The server is the SmartCallMonitor instance, which shares its lines with other computers on the network. For this purpose TAPI must already be configured on the server; you can find the necessary steps here.
1. Open the SmartCallMonitor settings and navigate to "Service->Security".
2. Add users who will receive one or more lines from this server. A user is defined by the Windows domain and user name, i.e. "Domainname\Username". If the user is not located in a domain, simply use the computer name, i.e. "Computername\Username".
3. For each user and line in the table below, choose the user capability.
▪No capability set: The user neither sees calls on this line nor the line itself.
▪Line State: The user sees the line state, but no caller information.
▪Monitoring: The user can see the line and calls on this line in the SmartCallMonitor switchboard view. However, the user can not control the line.
▪Full Access: The user can see the line and calls on this line in the SmartCallMonitor switchboard view. Additionally, the user can start and control calls on this line.
Client
1. Open the SmartCallMonitor settings and navigate to "Telephony->Monitoring Service".
2. Enter and add the server's computer name. The table below shows the current state of the connection. SmartCallMonitor continually tries to establish the connection until it succeeds or you remove the connection from the table.
3. If the connection succeeded, the table "Selected Servers Remote Lines" shows the received lines, if you select the connection from the table above.
4. If at least one line was received, you can select the default line for outgoing calls in the combo box at the bottom.
