With SpaceObServer you can scan by default any shares that are mapped to your Windows operating system. If you map a Linux or Unix share via Samba to your Windows system. SpaceObServer can scan this share, just like any Windows shares.
However, SpaceObServer can also communicate with Linux and Unix servers via the network protocol SSH (Secure Shell). This means that SpaceObServer can scan Linux and Unix shares, without the need to map integrate them into your Windows environment!
To add a new Linux / Unix Server scan use "Add Scan" from the main module "Scan" Ribbon or from within the Configure Scans dialog.
Configure the used "Scan target" accordingly (See "Scan Target").
Note: To scan a Linux Server via SSH you have to activate "Password Authentication" in the SSH configuration file. Otherwise you will get an "Authentication failed" error when trying to connect. CTR encryption via SSH (aes256-ctr, aes192-ctr, aes128-ctr, …) is not supported by SpaceObServer. You will get an "The negotiation of encryption of algorithm is failed" error in this case.
