The action "Windows Event Log" allows you to create entries in the Windows Event Log. This can be done on the local or a remote computer. Please note that you must have enough rights to create entries in ServerSentinel. It is recommended that you set the same rights for ServerSentinel as for the service. Then you can be sure that when an action works by ServerSentinel, then it will work in the service.
Action is enabled |
This option sets whether the action will be executed or not. |
Name |
The name of the action (max. 255 characters). Choose a meaningful name to clearly identify the action. |
Description |
An optionally description for the action (max. 512 characters). |
Enable Logging |
This option sets if the execution of the action should be logged to the action log. |
Host |
Here you can choose a host in your network on which you want to control a service. Also you can enter the host name or its IP address manually (max. 255 characters). |
Entry Type |
Here you can set which type of entry should be created. You can choose between: •Error •Warning •Information •SuccessAudit •FailureAudit |
Message Template |
Here you can enter the message which shall be written to the event log (max. 3999 characters). |
Add Variable |
With this button you can select from the available variables which you can use in your message. |
