Access to Admin Backend

You can define the access of user or security groups to the administrator backend in the setup. It is possible to add multiple users and security groups.

Tip

You can list the security groups of the current logged-in Windows user using the command: gpresult /V.

Setup the access

  1. Logout your account in SpaceObServer Web Access.

  2. In Start Menu, execute the entry Configure Administrator Role.

  3. After some seconds, a dialog appears.

  4. Enter the name of a security group or a user account and start the search using the Search button. It is also possible to search in combination with a domain by the following pattern: DOMAIN\GROUPNAME.

  5. When the search found a user or security group in the Active Directory, the result will be listed in the select box. Select and apply the entry using the Apply Selection button.

  6. The selected group or user will be displayed in this section. Click the Apply button to grant the Windows account access to the Admin Backend.

  7. Open SpaceObServer Web Access at http://hostname/admin and login.

Note

You can also edit the access to the Administrator Backend in the Role System. By default, the permission is permanently activated for the Administrator role.
