Scan Tab¶
The ribbon tab Scan contains all actions and elements related to the current scan.
Add Scan¶
Opens a form where you can select a drive, share or directory to scan. You may also enter a complete machine/server name (e.g. “\MyServer") to scan all available shares of this machine/server. All shares can be grouped in a container.
Note
With SpaceObServer Enterprise Edition you can also scan Linux and Unix server via SSH (See: “Scan Linux / Unix”) and scan the storage of Exchange Server mailboxes (See: “Scan Exchange Server”).
Reload¶
Reloads the scan currently selected in the direcotry tree from the database.
Scan Directory Now¶
Starts a scan for the selected directory.
Note
The duration of a scan depends on the number of files and sub folders in the directory. You should scan huge directories overnight by scheduling the scan within the Configure Scans Dialog.
Remove Scan from View¶
Removes the currently selected root directory from the directory tree.
Delete Scan from Database¶
Removes all scan details of the selected directory from the database.
Note
No directory will be removed from the hard disk in this way, but all information about the scanned directory, stored in the database, will be lost.
Expand¶
A submenu to expand the selected directory tree. See chapter Expand submenu.
Configure Scans¶
Opens the Configure Scans Dialog.
