SpaceObServer Web Access

SpaceObServer scans hard disks and servers and stores all scan results to a database. With the SpaceObServer Web Access end users can access these scans in a web browser and assist the administrator to clean up their storage.

Analogy to the SpaceObServer

The interface of SpaceObServer Web Access is modelled after the GUI of the SpaceObServer, but is limited to the end user. Administrators are able to add scans, alter data and make configurations in the SpaceObServer. SpaceObServer Web Access has mostly read-only access with a focus on the representation and limitation of the scanned data and share them in the company network. In addition, Web Access provides tools to assist the administrator to cleanup their memory.

Difference between Client Access and Web Access

The Client Access of SpaceObServer is designed for administrators who want to configure SpaceObServer remotely and review the results. It allows you to perform nearly all configurations available in the SpaceObServer interface from a remote location, except for agent settings. The agent is a service that automatically initiates scans. To use Client Access, it must be installed on each machine where you intend to access it.

The Web Access of SpaceObServer is primarily intended for end users who only need to view scan results. The data displayed can be restricted based on individual users or groups. Currently, there are no options available to configure scans through Web Access. To use it, you only need to install the Web Access on a local server and connect it to the database. Once set up, the Web Access can be accessed by any client within the network through a web browser.
